Just Another Monarch Monday

Halloween is just around the corner. I don’t have any more scary spider pictures today.

This is the monarch costume I wore in the summer. I wanted to wear it for trick or treat but mom says it is too cold. What are you wearing for Halloween?

Spooky Saturday!

It's Spooky Saturday! Is everyone ready for Halloween? I can't wait for Trick or Treat!

This is a harvestman or daddy long legs. Mom says this is an arachnid but NOT a spider.

Fanmail Friday - Miss Tarantula

It's Fanmail Friday again! It's so close to Halloween, how can we not have a spider?

This tarantula spider is from Aunt Dani. I think she saw it at the botanical garden.
I love that it is so hairy. Thank you Aunt Dani!

Throwback Thursday: Buckeye Butterfly

This throwback Thursday I am sharing with you a butterfly called the common buckeye.

You can find these all over the United States, but this one was in California. I love all of the eyes.

This spider was one of the first bugs I found on my own.

Now she is sleeping with an egg sack.

Sunday Stink Bug

Today we went to park and we didn't have to go far to find a stink bug. It was on the car next to us!

Boxelder Bug

Today we saw so many bugs! Mom even took some pictures and let me take one too.

Mom says she thinks this is a boxelder beetle. If you look closely you can see some smaller red eyes.

Fanmail Friday: Bugs in the Mail

Happy Fanmail Friday. This week I got some cool bug mail to share!

Grandpa Joe sent me an article about bugs from New York.

Aunt Dani and "Uncle" Mike sent me a bunch of bug stickers and tattoos!

If you see a bug take a picture and send it to me.

TBT: Macro Bees

Today's throwback Thursday is a closeup on bees.  These were photographed at a botanical garden in california, but I don't remember what kind of bees they are.

Sunflower Bee

I BEE-lieve it might be a whole week of bees. Every year mom takes me to this amazing sunflower field to take pictures and there are always some bees buzzing about. (This year I saw a mouse too!)

Bye Bye Bee

Mom found these two bees in the park. The big bee was really big! I guess some queens are killed by the hive at the end of summer but I don't know if that is what happened here.

Western Conifer Seed Bug

Today we found a bug outside. Mom says that she thinks he is a western conifer seed bug.

What I noticed was that he was a slow moving fellow and didn't mind a little pet. I decided to practice my reading and told him all of the different numbers and channels on the dish ad.

Fly Guy

Buzzzzzzzz it's a fly!

Big Headed Ground Beetle

Some days we go hunting for bugs and don't find anything. Other days we step out the door and onto a big headed ground beetle.

This bug is a really dark and shiny black!

Mom was at work when some people came in saying there was a mantis in the parking lot. She carefully moved the mantis into the bushes.

Mister Monarch

Monarch butterflies are amazing! Mom happened to see one when she was walking home late at night. She tried to get a picture of the butterfly and when it didn't fly away she caught it and put it in a butterfly habitat to show me in the morning.

Here is the original night picture.
